Two Stars Abandoned the Universe and Collided - a poem

when they
had gone
and placid
returned

a memory
of radiation
dull
in his mind
burned

leaving him
wondering
what
in himself
had been overturned

he would
never know
that
in the presence of fire
placid
tumbled
off mountains
to
the churning
below

now
the two stars
were gone

he was again free
from
the soundless song
of when
two stars
abandoned
the universe
and
collided
and
made
explosions of
light
beyond a
spectrum
sighted
